One might think that former Ravens head coach and now Fox and NFL Network analyst might not think highly of the team that fired him. That was certainly not the case when I spoke to him recently about his new job and his old team.
“This team reminds me of the 13-3 team we had a couple of years ago. I love the defense that Rex [Ryan] has and they continue to lead the team. If they can stay healthy then you are talking about the Ravens being able to stay close in every game. As for the offense there is a great deal of talent on that side of the ball as well. The offense line is the key again they need to stay healthy so they can get the keep Joe Flacco safe and most of all establish the running game. I like what John Harbaugh has done with the team and once again IF and that is always a big IF this team can stay healthy then I see no reason why they can’t be a playoff team,” said Billick.
OK the Ravens might make the playoffs but what is going on with the colleges in the area?
Big news last week was that Navy has extended their contract with CBS and CBS College Sports through 2016. The Navy deal means that each season almost every football game will be seen for the next eight years. It also means that those games will be seen in HD. The deal was a good day for Navy basketball as well as all the so called Olympic sports.
The deal is huge for the academy allowing them to showcase a large number of sports over the next eight years.
Ravens score big in the local ratings Baltimore for WJZ. The Ravens win over the Browns had a 24.8 rating with a 43 share making it the most watched program for the week on Baltimore TV.
This weekend is the end of baseball for another season with both MASN and WHFS-FM rapping up another season with the Orioles. OK so it wasn’t a great year on the field for the O’s we can get set for Tom Davis who has the best baseball talk show in the country.
