Each presidential election, voters get to learn a lot about the candidates: their favorite sports, how they looked in their high school yearbook photos and, of course, boxers or briefs? And it won’t be long before we find out what their favorite movies are.
Movies.com has decided to jump the gun, putting out a list of what it thinks should be each candidate’s favorite film.
For instance, the site thinks that Sen. Hillary Clinton’s favorite movie should be “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” so it has gone ahead and written her endorsement of the classic flick. “Jimmy Stewart is wonderful as a principled man who speaks his mind even after winning the election to the Senate,” says the imaginary Clinton. “My all-time favorite science-fiction movie.”
John Edwards, according to Movies.com, must be a fan of “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” “Finally! A movie that depicts the challenges faced by those of us with good hair like George Clooney! Excessive combing is just one price we pay. Four hundred dollars is another.”
How about Mitt Romney? “Rosemary’s Baby:” “Talk about a morality movie. Even Mia Farrow didn’t have an abortion, and she was carrying for Satan.”
