American junior small forward Bryce Simon will miss the Patriot League championship against Colgate on Friday after suffering a knee injury in last weekend’s semifinal win over Army.
“I just don’t see how it’s going to happen,” said Eagles head coach Jeff Jones.
Simon, a 6-foot-6 junior college transfer, has started every game this season for the Eagles (20-11), averaging 7.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 19 points against Lafayette in the final game of the regular season. He’s also second in assists (67) and three-pointers (43) and is a 74.3 percent shooter at the free throw line.
Six-four junior Frank Borden (2.8 ppg)is expected to make his second start as the Eagles vie for their first NCAA tournament berth.
