Baltimore Ravens’ Steve McNair is leaving the field

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair will announce his retirement from the NFL at 1 p.m. today.

He is leaving the game after 13 seasons, including two with the Baltimore Ravens.

McNair, who played most of his career with the Tennessee Titans, threw for 3,050 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2006. However, he was injured for most of the 2007 season as the team limped to a 5-11 record.

With McNair’s retirement, the Ravens still have quarterbacks Kyle Boller and Troy Smith on their roster. However, the team will likely look to select a quarterback in next week’s NFL Draft, with Boston College‘s Matt Ryan and Delaware‘s Joe Flaco among the favorites.
