Actress Kathleen Turner brought her deep, throaty voice to the People for the American Way’s Spirit of Liberty Awards gala Tuesday night at the Kennedy Center.

Also on hand: Rutgers University women’s basketball coach Vivian Stringer, Washington Mystics owner Sheila Johnson, comedian Kate Clinton and “Jesus Camp” filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady.
