…DeAngelo is giving up too many yards after the catch in coverage. The first one in the second quarter only went for another five yards, but those yards add up.
…Randy Thomas is still in uniform on the sidelines; he emerged about a minute into the third quarter.
…OK, it’s a defensive tackle who dropped it; but Cornelius Griffin had the ball right in his hands after dropping into coverage. The Redskins keep dropping these balls.
…Another trend: when Mike Sellers motiions out of the backfield to the right, they’ve run left.
…Right after that, Sellers motioned back to fullback and they ran Clinton Portis on a draw up the middle. Again, when they’ve motioned him to fullback, they’ve run. Ther ewas one time where they motioned with Sellers and threw.
…The playcalling inside the red zone has been suspect at best. Yes, there was a drop by Mike Sellers but why throw to him anyway? The offensive line is getting no movement down here.
…On the pass by Portis, don’t know if this was an option, but had he turned around and threw back to Campbell he would have scored. If, that is, Santana Moss could block one guy. That’s all that was over there.
…The Redskins got fortunate on the false start on third and 1. Steven Jackson had room to run around the right side. The Rams had caught Washington with all 11 defenders up near the line of scrimmage. It would have been at least a 10-yard gain. Not that it mattered for them as, surprise surprise, they converted a third and long anyway.
…Albert Haynesworth has his hands on his knees, before the third and seven play. Lucky for him, the Rams called time.
…The Rams are spreading the field, getting Chris Horton out of the box, and running Steven Jackson. They’re having mild success with this; more than they’re having out of their I formations.
…This is shocking… Except that, it’s probably also predictable. That is, if some of us knew how to predict things.
