Good lookin’ on the gridiron

It isn’t often that a head shot is required as part of a football tryout.

But then, most football games aren’t the third annual Blondes vs. Brunettes flag football game. In addition to being a benefit for the National Capital Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the event appears to be a test of social status.

In an e-mail sent by organizers last week, prospective players are instructed to send a $30 application fee, a .JPG head shot and an application. Among the application questions: college, profession, charities you are affiliated with, volunteer activities, favorite vacation spot, favorite cocktail and favorite bar.

Organizers Andrea Rodgers (blondes) and Miriam Warren (brunettes) state that “the 10 ladies who raise the most money [for Alzheimer’s] between September 1 and October 12 will be on the team. … The remaining spots are for ladies [they] choose with priority given to the ladies who come to the most number of practices between September 1 and October 12.”

We bet those head shots don’t hurt, either.
