It was assumed that the Capitals already had their revenge against former Calgary Flames forward Rene Bourque. The man who put star center Nicklas Backstom on ice with an elbow to the head Jan. 3 was forced to answer by Matt Hendricks when his new team — the Montreal Canadiens had since traded for him — hosted Washington on Jan. 18. That should have been it for Bourque. But it’s not a good sign that the Caps have since recalled enforcer Joel Rechlicz from Hershey of the American Hockey League. The teams meet Saturday.
“I heard it was a cheap shot,” Rechlicz said. “Hopefully I’m in the lineup for that game.”

Hendricks isn’t exactly a stereotypical enforcer, and you could argue he lost the fight to Bourque on Jan. 18. Rechlicz tried to fight Florida’s Krys Barch on Wednesday but was rebuffed. He isn’t one to be deterred easily.
“Then I’m just going to go get my checks, and if I’ve got to run a guy through the glass and force them to fight, that’s what you’ve got to do,” Rechlicz said.
