Arguez is making the jump to Germany

Although he didn’t make a single first-team appearance as a rookie, D.C. United midfielder Bryan Arguez is set to make a jump to German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin.

The two clubs are in the final stages of completing a deal for the 19-year old midfielder, said Rob Feigenson, a National Sports Group agent who worked in conjunction with Arguez’s representatives at Long View Management to initiate the player’s recent trial with the German club and his ensuing transfer.

Reports are that D.C. United and Major League Soccer will receive a transfer fee between $350,000 and $400,000 as well as future financial considerations if Arguez is sold to another club.

Arguez, a member of the U.S. under-20 national team, was a first-round draft choice last season. His departure leaves United without any of the five players it selected in the 2007 MLS draft.
