CB Chase Minnifield
He never looked out of place covering the Redskins’ top receivers, a good first sign. With a healthy knee, Minnifield would have been at least a third-round pick. Instead he’s an undrafted free agent with a lot to prove. His signing was as much about the future as this year.

FS Madieu Williams
He has not played well in recent years, but there’s little doubt that he stood out this spring. Williams showed excellent ball skills and instincts and moved well, something last year’s starter O.J. Atogwe could not do. The trick now is making sure he looks good in August.
WR Aldrick Robinson
He made big plays during the two-day minicamp, finally showing the speed that got him drafted in 2010. But Robinson will need to prove he can also return kicks and punts in order to move ahead of Brandon Banks and others. Robinson did not look good in this role last summer.
WR Santana Moss
He entered the offseason as a major question mark, needing to get in shape. But he did just that and he looked quick, leading to a round of platitudes from the coaches. With Josh Morgan not fully recovered from ankle surgery, the Redskins need a revitalized Moss in the slot.
TE Niles Paul
The grand experiment, moving him from receiver to tight end, is intriguing. Paul showed his speed at times running routes from new spots. He also was held off the line more than any other tight end in spring workouts. Can he block here? His desire and competitiveness will help.
