The 4A East region softball champion will be coming out of Anne Arundel County for the second consecutive season, but the 2006 winner won?t be determined until Friday when Glen Burnie visits Chesapeake at 6 p.m. for the title.
The Gophers have already defeated defending state champion North County, and just knocked off third-seed Arundel to advance to the title game.
Elsewhere in state softball region games, two defending champions from Calvert County remain alive. Calvert, the 2A champs and Huntingtown, the 2005 3A state champion, each play in regional title games Friday.
