2010 Redskins Week 11 report card: at Titans

Early trend

Tight end Chris Cooley caught zero passes in the first three quarters but became a crucial part in the fourth quarter and overtime. Cooley finished with seven catches for 91 yards, including a 26-yarder on the first offensive play in overtime.

Under the radar

The game plan had a lot to do with keeping Donovan McNabb protected, in addition to strong play from the backup linemen. McNabb threw a lot of short passes, some of which turned into long runs. The screen passes helped McNabb beat the pressure, too.

Did you notice?

How much better the Redskins contained the outside this week vs. RB Chris Johnson after failing to do so against Eagles QB Michael Vick? Johnson gained 130 yards on 21 carries, but 64 yards came on three runs and none led to scores.

From the sidelines

» Jeff Fisher and Tennessee never could figure out a way to pressure a battered line. The Titans blitzed, but the Redskins never seemed fooled. Offensively the Titans were unable to get Rusty Smith many easy throws to build a rhythm.

» This was one of the gutsiest wins by a Redskins team in recent memory. Credit the coaching staff, starting at the top with Mike Shanahan, for getting them through a rough week and then an even rougher game because of injuries.
