Junior tackle Aboushi recognized after victory over Miami
For the fourth time this year, a Virginia player has been named ACC offensive lineman of the week. On Monday Cavaliers junior tackle Oday Aboushi was honored for the second time this season. In Virginia’s 28-21 victory at Miami on Thursday night, Aboushi (6-6, 310) graded out at 89 percent and had 11 knockdown blocks as Virginia rushed for 207 yards, passed for 263, and didn’t yield a sack.
Senior center Anthony Mihota (6-4, 285) also has captured the honor twice this year. Mammoth sophomore Morgan Moses (6-6, 335) is considered the most talented member of the line. Senior guard Austin Pasztor is the most experienced with 40 career starts. Guard Luke Bowanko (Centreville), a 6-6, 295-pound sophomore, has received praise in his first year as a starter.

The Virginia offensive line has helped the Cavaliers improve from 139 yards rushing per game and 4.0 yards per carry in 2010 to 186 yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry this season. After allowing 23 sacks in 12 games last year, the Cavs have permitted eight sacks in eight games in 2011.
