Affleck yells at the yellers

You may have spotted Ben Affleck on MSNBC’s “Hardball” last week, talking about the 2008 presidential campaign and squashing rumors that the outspoken actor and political activist will one day seek public office.

Well, it turns out that Affleck is such a fan of “Hardball” that it even annoys his wife, actress Jennifer Garner.

Affleck told “Hardball” producers that, when he watches it at home, he ends up yelling at the television set, which hardly sits well with Garner.

Sporting fools in the Senate

Who says the Senate is broken? Amid all the fuss over its failure to pass immigration reform Thursday, the upper chamber did pass three important bills: one congratulating the Johns Hopkins University men’s lacrosse team for winning the NCAA championship, one congratulating the Brown University women’s crew team for its championship and one honoring former NASCAR President William Clifton France, who died last week.

Furtado gives a nod to our footballers

At her concert at George Mason University’s Patriot Center on Friday, Nelly Furtado put on a DC United jersey.

Turns out the songstress agreed to don the jersey as a favor to United’s all-star defender Bobby Boswell. She was also supposed to let Boswell interview her on camera for a spot on his blog, bobbyboswell.com, but she flaked on the interview and it never happened, according to a source close to the  United.
