The Caps are in the middle of a morning practice at Kettler Iceplex in preparation for Friday night’s game at Ottawa. Alex Ovechkin and Jason Arnott were again skating before practice with strength and conditioning coach Mark Nemish. Their injuries are officially undisclosed and both likely won’t return until late next week, according to coach Bruce Boudreau. But both were moving around at a pretty good clip today. They skated wearing warm-up gear, not full pads.
All defensemen were accounted for save Mike Green. Will have an update on him later this morning. But it’s worth noting we haven’t seen him on the ice once this week. He had skated on his own at Kettler last week a few times.
The lines at practice today: Laich-Backstrom-Semin (red) with Eric Fehr the extra; Chimera-Johansson-Knuble (gray); Sturm-Gordon-Bradley (green); King-Beagle-Hendricks (white). Both goalies – Semyon Varlamov and Michal Neuvirth were out there, as well.
