Washington Examiner Editorial Section Lineup for Friday, November 21, 2008

Examiner Editorial:
Congress should never have created these bureaucratic monstrosities but now is an opportune moment to shutter them for good.

Timothy P. Carney:
Looks like Goldman Sachs has its man in the Obama White House with Rahm Emanuel as chief of staff, so a little recent history should be of interest.

.

Irwin Stelzer:
Why the long economic faces when it’s not 1932, or even 1982?

Sharp Sticks:
Barabara Hollingsworth, our local opinion editor, notes that Fairfax County’s congressman-to-be, Gerry Connolly, has staked out a spot in the bailout line. Keep an eye on this guy because, as chairman of the Fairfax County (VA) Board of Supervisors, Connolly has been a big-spending, tax-hiking pol who has skated on thin ethical ice as well. He’s another reason why we say on the editorial staff that Congress is going to be an even target-richer environment.

Have a great weekend. It’s been snowing here in Sykesville (rural north central Maryland) for about an hour, so it appears winter really is here.

Spring can’t get here too soon!
