Talents are still going south with Heat

LeBron James changed scenery. His results haven’t changed at all. Not against the Boston Celtics. The Miami Heat have faced Boston three times this season. They’ve also now lost three times. And Boston, with a depleted bench, won Sunday with Paul Pierce scoring just one point.

One!

The Heat are now 4-7 against the other division leaders in the NBA, plus Dallas (which is playing .704 ball). Meanwhile, the Celtics are 10-6 against that same group. Obviously Miami is still a growing team and things can change. But Boston still appears to be the best in the East.

But James should be used to this. In Cleveland, he was 10-13 with two playoff series defeats vs. the Celtics in the past three seasons.

The Celtics’ defensive versatility, thanks to Kevin Garnett and point guard Rajon Rondo — who covered James some Sunday — is a big reason for the success vs. Miami. The postseason should bring more of the same.
