Tonight, Chesapeake (Anne Arundel) will play C. Milton Wright for the Class 4A State softball championship at the University of Maryland in College Park.
C. Milton Wright lost in the 3A State Final last year to Huntingtown. The Mustangs graduated just one senior from that team and made it back to the state finals, despite moving up a division. C. Milton Wright?s last championship season was in 1985.
Chesapeake made its last appearance in the state finals in 2004. That year the Cougars fell to Westminster in the title game. The last state title won by Chesapeake came in 1993.
