The Utah Republican is urging that President Obama invite Boise State to the White House, along with BCS winner Alabama, to honor college football’s top team.
There’s no doubt Hatch is a football fan. He’s disputed the lack of a college football playoff system in the past and was irate over his home state’s team, Utah, not being invited to the national title game after an undefeated season last year.
It’s hard to disagree that a playoff in college football is needed, but there’s no need to drag sports into politics. Hatch, leave your fanhood on the couch in your living room.
Boise State had another great season, but they don’t deserve to be grouped in with Alabama as the national champion.
Stop wasting your time writing letters to the President about football and focus on the nation’s real issues.
Maybe next year Hatch will get his wish if the Broncos beat Virginia Tech and Oregon State on their way to a third straight undefeated regular season.
