Chefs in love
It’s been quite a year for chef Christophe Poteaux and pastry chef Michelle Garbee. The pair, who met while working at Aquarelle at the Watergate, opened their own place, Bastille in Old Town Alexandria, last summer.
Now this weekend, they’ll make it official as they tie the knot in Las Vegas and enjoy a short honeymoon there. Garbee is taking Poteaux’s name both personally and professionally, so now they’ll be known as the “Chefs Poteaux.”
In other chef news, chef Peter Smith of PS7’s in Penn Quarter has lucky numbers on his side. Last week, he became the proud father of Simon Porter Smith. PS7’s happens to be at 777 Eye St. And Simon, as fate would have it, weighed in at exactly 7 pounds., 7.7 ounces.
