Jim Nussle
A Yeas & Nays spy spotted Nussle — the former Iowa Republican congressman confirmed by the Senate to head the Office of Management and Budget late Tuesday afternoon — working with his laptop out of the Starbucks at 17th and L streets earlier in the day.
Bush nominated Nussle to the office June 19, but because the Democratic Senate hadn’t yet confirmed him, he couldn’t move into the OMB offices across the street yet.
Thus, he was overheard saying, “This is my office. Depending how it works out, I may have to stay here.”
After Tuesday night’s successful confirmation vote, Nussle’s overcaffeinated work environment could be a thing of the past. Besides, how many of those caramel macchiatos can you have, anyway?
