The Orioles sent right-handed pitcher Rob Bell and catchers J.R. House and Gustavo Molina to Triple-A Norfolk Wednesday, removing the trio from the club?s 40-man roster.
With those three demotions, and Tuesday?s release of right-handed pitchers Victor Zambrano and Jaret Wright, the Orioles have 36 players on the 40-man roster, not including the five players on the 60-day disabled list.
More space will be created when catcher Paul Bako, outfielder Corey Patterson and right-handed pitcher Kris Benson hit the free agent market.
The free agency period begins 16 days after the World Series ? Game 1 is set for Oct. 24.
