Josh Howard might make his long-awaited return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and Andray Blatche also seems likely to be back after missing four of the last five games for Saturday’s highly-anticipated visit by the Miami Heat. But John Wall (right knee tendonitis) missed another day of practice and seems likely to miss his third straight game.
Howard was headed to the doctor’s office immediately after practice this afternoon.
“If everything comes back good, it could be tomorrow night, it could be Monday,” said Howard, who blew his knee against the Chicago Bulls on Feb. 22 and has not played since. “Next week for sure, but if everything turn out right, and how it feels later on, it could be tomorrow.”
Howard guessed that if he comes back tomorrow, he could play 20 minutes at the most just as a precaution
Blatche has missed the last two games with a swollen left knee, an injury that may have had something to do with his one-game return after missing two games with a bruised right hip.
“It felt good during practice, so the most important thing is to see how I feel when I wake up in the morning,” said Blatche. “If it feels good in the morning, then I’m going to go tomorrow.”
“Both of those guys will probably be closer to a game-time [decision],” said Wizards head coach Flip Saunders. “I think that based on today, I think both of those guys will be able to play some. That’s my inclination. John, probably not.”
Wall did not practice and was also set for a doctor’s visit today.
