No audience in sight

Although “No End in Sight,” Charles Ferguson’s new documentary on Iraq, will be released more widely in the next two weeks, he must be hoping it will launch better than it did Wednesday on Capitol Hill.
Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., was on hand to introduce the film in front of barely a handful of people. Not only that, but a DVD malfunction cut off the last 15 minutes.
Ferguson wrote, directed and produced the film, which criticizes the foreign policy officials who have managed the occupation of Iraq. Thus far, the film has received healthy reviews. Senior staff for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., viewed the film and “loved it,” according to Ferguson.
Members from both parties have requested to view the film, and criticism has come from both sides. It will be released in 20 cities throughout the United States next week, with a wide release scheduled for the following week.
