Gibbs retires Washington Media on Red Alert

Joe Jackson Gibbs is gone as the head coach of the Washington Redskins after four year on a five year contract.

A press conference will be held this afternoon at 3pm. CSN and MASN as well all NBC4, Fox 5, ABC7, WUSA9 and of course Triple X ESPN and Sports Talk 980AM will cover the press conference live.

Speculation is that Gregg Williams will become his replacement but there is no confirmation on that he will indeed be offered that post. There has been some speculation that Bill Cowher could be offered the job or that the team may go through the job process because of NFL rules that would require them to do an “open search.”

Much is not known so stay tuned to find out what is happening.

We now know that both the Redskins and the Ravens the two highest profiled professional franchises in the region are looking for head coaches and so the sports media of the area are officially on Red Alert or in the case of Baltimore Purple Alert.
