Sept. 5, 1983

Green chases down Dallas’ Tony Dorsett after a 77-yard run in a Monday Night Football game at RFK Stadium. In just his first game, he displayed the speed that would become legendary.

Jan. 10, 1988

In a moment that many who played with him, or coached him, point to as the one that defi nes him, Green returns a punt 52 yards for a touchdown in a playoff win over Chicago. He tears a rib cartilage on the play, clutching his ribs as he leaped one would-be tackler and raced to the end zone.

Jan. 17, 1988

A week later, after taking a painkiller, Green defends a pass to Minnesota’s Darrin Nelson at the goal line on the game’s final play, sealing a trip to the Super Bowl.

Feb. 1, 1998

Green becomes the oldest cornerback ever to play in the Pro Bowl. His seventh trip to the Pro Bowl comes two weeks before his 38th birthday.

Dec. 29, 2002

Green runs 35 yards on a reverse off a punt, exciting the fans in his last game. Later, he salutes the fans with a postgame victory lap around FedEx Field. Green set an NFL-record for corners by playing 20 seasons.
