Comcast SportsNet has moved Chick Hernandez to the Redskins beat, and he could not be happier.
The network airs “Training Camp Daily” weeknights at 6:30 with Hernandez live from Redskins Park.
How do you like covering the Redskins again?
Hernandez » “First of all, following Kelli Johnson, who was the best reporter here at Redskins Park, is not easy. She set the bar very high, and she is doing a great job following the Nationals. The last time I was a daily fixture at Redskins Park I was working at Fox 5, so a great deal has changed. There are more reporters, and the amount of content that we produce on a daily basis is far more than we ever did back in the day.”
What has impressed you thus far?
Hernandez » “There is no doubt that Robert Griffin III has energized the team and there is a very good mindset here at Redskins Park. For the past three years, Mike Shanahan has been working hard at getting his type of players, character guys with a good work ethic. Now he really has a team that he likes, and we will see if that translates to a winner on the field. They do seem to headed in the right direction.”
