Someone better remind D.C. Council member Kwame Brown what sport the Nationals play, because he’s having a hard time keeping his sports metaphors straight.

During a news conference held at Ben’s Chili Bowl to celebrate the eatery’s partnership with the Washington Nationals, Brown discussed the road leading to the new stadium’s development.

“We worked hard to get the ball across the line,” Brown said. Um, that’d be football, Kwame, and we’re all about baseball these days.
At this presser, of all events, it really shouldn’t be that hard to keep them straight, right, council member Harry Thomas? “There is some immutable connection between baseball and hot dogs and you know what I’m talking about,” he said.
Nats President Stan Kasten didn’t mix his metaphors, but did confess to being a newcomer to Ben’s Chili Bowl. “I’m new to town,” Kasten said, “but I’ve heard about this place for years, and I’ve been spending a lot of time here lately.”
