Clint Boyer sees Richmond as a chance to rebound – 7pm on FOX

FOX – 7pm

 Radio – MRN  and Sirius-XM Channel 128

The last time we saw Clint Boyer driving his number 33, Richard Childress, Chevy he was being beaten by Jimmy Johnson at Talladega by about a bumper. Just another wild finish at ‘Dega and now it is under the lights down the road at Richmond for a Saturday night showdown at 7p.m. on FOX.

Crown Royal presents the Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400 is this week’s showcase event and plenty of Washington area race fans are on their way south today for the race at Richmond International Speedway.

Just before he headed off on a short vacation I spoke to Clint Boyer about Talladega and moving on to Richmond this week as Sprint Cup action returns after a week off for Easter.

Boyer on Talladega and his time off:”I would be lying if I didn’t say we were disappointed that Jimmy [Johnson] beat us. I think that our entire team felt that we had that race won but hey we did everything we could to win and it did happen. We have done the same thing Jimmy did to us before to win so it all works out in the end. So on my week off I did take the family to the Bahamas, sat on the beach and really got some rest and now I am ready to get back in the hunt.”

Boyer on Richmond:”There is no doubt that Richmond is one of my favorite tracks on the entire NASCAR circuit. I have won both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup races there and it really sets up well for me and my team. We have had his fifth straight top-10 finish with two of those top ten are second-place finishes in his past two races, at Texas and Talladega. So we feel we are well on our way to becoming a “Cup Car” and Richmond could be our launching pad.”
