In the NCAA Division II Championships at The Sangamore Club in Noblesville, Ind., Falls Church’s Ben Lasso, a junior at Queens College, N.C., had the lead after two rounds before fading to an 11th place finish. Lasso (73-70-82-75 – 300) finished 15 strokes behind Abilene Christian’s Cyril Bounoil (76-68-71-70 – 285).
Queens, making its first appearance in the NCAA tournament, did not survive the cut, failing to place in the top 15 after the third round.
