STRENGTHS
The Steelers have experience in Willie Parker. But with his Super Bowl credentials comes some wear and tear. He was injured for the majority of the first half of the season, but has come on strong in the playoffs. After carrying the ball 210 times for 791 yards and five scores in 11 regular season games, Parker has rushed for 193 yards in on 51 carries this postseason – trailing only Arizona’s Edgerrin James in both categories.

WEAKNESSES
Depth. The Steelers envisioned first-round pick Rashard Mendenhall as a powerful complement to Parker’s speed. But he was lost for the season when Ray Lewis broke his collarbone in Week Four. Mewelde Moore was good during the regular season, but he and reserve Gary Russell have combined for eight carries and 24 yards in the playoffs.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Gary Russell will be crucial in short-yardage situations. With Parker and Moore known more for their speed and ability to run around the line of scrimmage, Russell will be counted on to earn the tough yards between the tackles. He rushed just 28 times for 77 yards and three touchdowns 12 games during the regular season, but he’s gained just five yards on four carries in two postseason games.
