With the NBA trading deadline at 3 p.m. Thursday, we take a look at some of the best players acquired in the past 10 years before the deadline.

1. Pau Gasol (2008) » OK, he technically wasn’t acquired at the deadline, but it was still in February. It was a lopsided trade by Memphis that tilted the balance of power in the NBA and led to the Los Angeles Lakers title this past spring. Gasol is an All-Star center even if he does live up to his soft label at times.

2. Rasheed Wallace (2004) » Detroit picked up Wallace from Atlanta in a three-team deal and he became the final piece to their championship team that season. With Wallace, the Pistons played in five straight Eastern Conference finals.

3. Dikembe Mutombo (2001) » The former Georgetown star helped Philadelphia reach the NBA Finals in 2001 after it acquired him from Atlanta in February for aging forward Toni Kukoc among others.

4. Mike Bibby (2008) » Atlanta received the veteran point guard and proceeded to make the postseason, taking eventual champion Boston to seven games in the first round and advanced to the conference semifinals last year. Bibby now is the leader of a young, athletic team.

5. Baron Davis (2005) » Golden State fleeced New Orleans, sending the Hornets Speedy Claxton. Davis led the Warriors to their upset of heavily-favored Dallas in the 2007 playoffs and reached the Western Conference semifinals. The Warriors won 48 games with Davis in 2008.
