For the second straight year, the Orioles have placed two of their prospects in the All-Star Futures Game.

Pitchers Garrett Olson and Pedro Beato will pitch on opposite sides ? Olson for the U.S. and Beato for the World team ? when the top minor league prospects square off July 8 in San Francisco as part of the All-Star break festivities.

Olson, 23, is closest to the majors. The 6-foot-1 left-hander is 6-6 with a 3.71 ERA in 16 starts at Triple-A Norfolk. A native of Fresno, Calif., the Orioles selected Olson as a compensatory pick out of Cal-Poly in 2005.

Beato, 20, was also a compensatory pick, having been selected in 2006. A native of the Dominican Republic, Beato is 3-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 15 games at Single-A Delmarva.

Right-hander Radhames Liz and outfielder Nolan Reimold represented the O?s in the 2006 Futures Game.

NORFOLK (34-43)

Norfolk catcher J.R. House has been passed over when the Orioles have called up bats from the minors. But his performance hasn?t gone unnoticed. House is fifth in the International League with 46 RBI. House, 27, is hitting .307 with six home runs in 73 games.

BOWIE (39-35)

On May 19, Jeff Fiorentino was batting .206. Since then, he?s been on a tear, and is now hitting .279 ? good for fourth on the club. He leads the team with 11 homers and 47 RBI.

FREDERICK (1-3)*

Frederick won the Carolina League?s Northern Division in the first half with a 32-37 record. In doing so, the Keys became the first team in league history to clinch a half-season title with a losing record. The Keys will return to the playoffs for the third straight year, having won the league title in 2005.

DELMARVA (1-3)*

Brandon Snyder is hitting .256 with six home runs and 32 RBI in 66 games. Those six home runs are two more than his career totals in 72 prior minor league games. Delmarva went 34-33 in the South Atlantic League?s first half.

BLUEFIELD (5-1)

Only a week into the season, Bluefield is led by outfielder Kraig Binick, who is 10-for-22 with two homers and seven RBI in five games.
