Industry sources confirmed to me that CBS Radio Baltimore and Anita Marks have come to an agreement on a one year deal that will keep her in Baltimore. While details are being worked out the two parties are “very pleased with the deal” and excited that the popular talk show host will remain in Charm City on The Fan 105.7FM.

Marks was also being wooed by Miami sports talk outlet WQAM who was offering her the pregame host roll for both the Dolphins and University of Miami football along with her own show. However Marks and CBS Radio Baltimore Bob Phillips spent a great deal of time over the last month working out the details of her new contract.

The deal will make sure that Marks and partner Scott Garceau will remain the drive time team Monday-Friday’s from 3pm to 7pm on The Fan 105.7FM. The Scott and Anita show will continue to be simulcast on MASN.

More details when the deal is done.

Meanwhile Steve Czaban survived the blood bath at Fox Sports Radio. His show will now be called The Steve Czaban Show no longer the First Team on Fox. The Clear Channel budget cuts caused the network to do away with a number of popular broadcasters. Ben Maller, Craig Shemon, Andrew Siciliano, and James Washington are among the big names that have been let go as part of over 1800 jobs lost nationwide by Clear Channel.

Former WNST – 1570AM host Rob Long is doing a fine job in the 9am to noon slot on FSR Baltimore 1370AM. But the news Fox Sports Radio line-up features Dan Patrick in the 9am to noon slot. There will be some movement to run Patrick at a latter time in the future.

Speaking of WNST Nestor Aparicio he will coming back full time in the 2pm to 7pm slot vacated by Long. Aparicio will no doubt add some spice to the afternoons. It will be fun to have Nester back on the air.
