That’s “24”‘s Jean Smart and MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson at the 801 Steak & Chop House last night in Des Moines, Iowa. The former “Designing Women” star is in town to support John Edwards.
We had a chance to ask Smart about Edwards and she was rather perturbed that all these folks call him the “angry candidate.”

“Angry?!? I think it’s more like righteous indignation!” said Smart. “I mean, who isn’t angry at something from time to time?”
We also asked her if she’s heard from “24” star Kiefer Sutherland, who’s currently doing time for a D.U.I.
“Oh, I unfortunately haven’t asked about him.”
“Desperate Housewives” star James Denton and actress Madeleine Stowe are also in town today on behalf of the Edwards campaign.
