MLS Expansion curveball?

We need only to look at the recent explosion of rumors about where U.S. Soccer was considering staging it’s World Cup qualifier next month against Mexico to get a sense of what is true and what isn’t when it comes to Mexican news outlets. Guilty as charged, eh?

But make no mistake, this story reeks of being legit. In running it up the flag pole to MLS headquarters, the response I got was essentially: Pachuca did not submit a bid for the latest round of MLS expansion. The league is considering two cities from its list of six bid: Atlanta, Miami, Ottawa, Portland, St. Louis and Vancouver. The accepted bids are expected to be announced before the start of the upcoming season.

Not exactly a denial, at the very minimum of Jesús Martínez’s quotes, if you get my drift.
