Over the past few days, we’ve been keeping you posted on the VIPs stopping by Iowa’s seen-and-be seen steakhouse: the 801 Steak & Chop House. But on Caucus Night, the place was a ghost town by comparison to Tuesday and Wednesday. Not only were the VIPs notably absent (save an early appearance by Gov. Bill Richardson), but the restaurant decided to close down early as the crowd proved meager and after some of the restaurant’s biggest reservations abruptly canceled: tables for 15, 12, 10 and 8.
Looks like the Iowa caucuses are one of the few things that can keep political and media types away from a good porterhouse.
