Pawlenty: Tripping himself up

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty may not have gotten the nod as John McCain’s vice presidential candidate, but it’s tough to say he wouldn’t be ready for that mythical 3 a.m. phone call.

Speaking at Newt Gingrich’s American Solutions panel on education on Tuesday, Pawlenty explained how he employed duct tape in high school to maximize his studying. “I would put duct tape across my bedroom door so if I got groggy and tried to go to bed I would hit the duct tape and wake up and go finish my homework.”

And, with all that duct tape around, Tom Ridge would call Pawlenty’s room a truly safe studying environment.
