Where are they now?: Jesse Schwartzman, Lacrosse

An 11-4 loss to a determined Maryland squad last Saturday night shouldn?t dampen the season Schwartzman has put together.

The 6-feet, 210-pound goalie was a Second Team Preseason All-America selection by Inside Lacrosse/Faceoff Yearbook prior to this spring.

Schwartzman led the Blue Jays to the program?s eighth national championship last season, and was named the 2005 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player award for his efforts.

His goals-against-average of 6.68 was the lowest recorded mark in Hopkins history. Coming into the 2006 season, his .624 career save percentage ranked him fourth all-time.

Schwartzman has 92 saves so far this season, and is on pace to crack the schools? top-10 list for career saves by the end of the regular season.

He turned in 11 stops against Maryland against a barrage of 27 shots.

Hopkins is now 5-4 with a battle at Navy scheduled for noon on Saturday.
