NBA wives take on Chevy Chase boutiques

Shop till you drop

About 50 NBA wives descended on the high-end shops at the Collection at Chevy Chase on Friday evening to pick up some designer duds and do their part for charity.

The women were in town for the annual conference of Behind the Bench: The National NBA Wives Association, of which Charisse Jackson-Jordan, wife of Wizards Coach Eddie Jordan, serves as president.

Bags from Bulgari, Gucci and Louis Vuitton were spotted most often as the women made their way around the complex during the Shop for a Cause event. Participating stores donated 10 percent of sales to the N Street Village, a nonprofit that serves homeless and low-income women.

Ever the supportive husbands, Jordan and Wizard Caron Butler also showed up to lend their support.

After the shop-a-thon, the women held a private dinner reception at Famoso to honor Butler’s wife, Andrea; DeShawn Snow, wife of Cleveland Cavalier Eric Snow; and Ashley Brown, president of Off the Field, the NFL Players Wives Association. As for Snow, her name will soon be more familiar. She’s set to star in Bravo’s forthcoming “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
