Hibbs throws no-hitter for Arundel

The Arundel baseball team stayed right on course, combining a solid offensive attack with a strong pitching performance in a game against North County on Monday.

Right-hander Tyler Hibbs pitched a seven-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts and only three walks for the visiting Wildcats, as Arundel blanked Noth County 5-0 to improve to 7-0 on the season.

Hibbs also starred at the plate, and went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Knights (4-3).

“We have a complete team with very good pitching and timely hitting,” said Arundel coach Bernie Walter, in his 32nd year as the coach. “Tyler had good command of his pitches and we played well behind him defensively. We have great depth, and we feel good about our play so far.”

Among the standouts who have played for Walter include Denny Neagle, who has pitched in the major leagues.
