He’s made of crystal

Tiger Woods was the talk of the town last week, as Washington enjoyed the inaugural Tiger Woods AT&T National golf championship, which took place at Bethesda’s Congressional Country Club.

And, during a private meeting with members in the club’s Windsor Lounge on Friday afternoon, club President Stuart Long presented Woods with a 2-foot-tall crystal statute of the U.S. Capitol Building. And, as an added incentive, Long told Woods that, should he win the tournament, the club would have the statute updated to feature Woods’ resemblance swinging away atop the Capitol dome, cementing his grip over the District.

In return, Woods presented Long with a framed thank you note from the many professional players participating in the four-day tournament.

And wouldn’t you know it: In the spirit of the Fourth of July, ourspy said that the signed document looked just like the Declaration of Independence.
