Glass, Oliver awarded scholarships

Pikesville basketball player Carley Glass and Edmondson/Westside football player Travis Oliver were presented scholarships as the recipients of the 66th Annual McCormick Unsung Heroes awards.

Each received scholarships valued at $30,000 over four years, at the banquet honoring 119 area student-athletes on Monday.

The featured speaker at the banquet was Jim Morris, a former major leaugue pitcher who was one of the oldest rookies in major league history. His climb to the major leagues was chronicled in the movie “The Rookie.”
