Georgetown’s approval rating is down

COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s the one set of NCAA picks that the entire country is measuring itself against. When President Obama revealed his bracket on ESPN this week, he chose N.C. State as his only double-digit seed to reach the Sweet 16. To get there, Obama has the Wolfpack upsetting Georgetown.

“I actually sent [ESPN reporter] Andy Katz a text this morning,” Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried said, “and I told him that the president’s trying to get votes. I’m trying to get wins. It’s a little different. So we respect his opinion. But we understand this game will be decided once the ball goes in the air.”

The Hoyas, who have not advanced past their opening game since 2008, have more pressing concerns than worrying about a third-round upset.

“Really?” Georgetown senior guard Jason Clark said when told Obama had picked against his team. “He’s still my guy. I still like him.”
