The Redskins hired running backs coach Bobby Turner, a move that was expected once Denver gave Washington permission to interview its longtime position coach.
Turner spent the past 15 seasons in Denver, including 14 with new Redskins coach Mike Shanahan. Six different running backs gained at least 1,000 yards under Turner’s tutelage, including current Redskins back Clinton Portis. Terrell Davis went from a sixth-round draft pick to fringe Hall of Famer during Turner’s tenure.
