Back in the Game
If you’re one of the 5 million fans of the current ABC reality show “Ex-Wives Club,” where individuals who’ve undergone rough divorces figure out how to move on with their lives, you may have spotted Rebecca Bredholt, a 31-year-old originally from Orlando who broke up with her husband after seven years thanks, in part, to verbal

abuse.
Well, Ms. Bredholt has now moved to our fair city.
“I love D.C.,” Bredholt told Yeas & Nays. “I’m surrounded by smart women here.” Sure, sure but we all want to know what she thinks of the dating scene here. “It’s almost comical. I see a lot of these guys and just think, ‘Who do you think you are? You might make a lot of money but you’re short and you don’t dress well.’ ”
Still, Bredholt has managed to find someone in this city of short, poorly dressed men. After spending five months in Washington single, Rebecca snagged a younger guy: a 27-year-old lawyer named Gary (“He’s a bit of a party guy”). But Bredholt isn’t totally enamored with Washington’s political scene, even though her sister’s husband works for former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage. “It’s so not my scene,” Bredholt says.
Bredholt spends her days working for the media monitoring firm Vocus and is shopping around a “fictional” book based almost entirely on her marriage (she admits that, although most of the story is based on her own experiences, she had to change some names for legal reasons). “My ex and I are not on good terms,” she said. “He was made out to be a complete jerk on the show, which is great.”
