confusion.
John Edwards’ campaign sent Rep. Brad Miller, D-N.C., who seemed to be frequently unaware of Edwards’ stances on issues. After refusing to comment on behalf of the campaign on several topics, even eliciting derisive laughter from the crowd on a couple of occasions, Miller finally said at one point, “OK. Now this is actually a topic I know how Edwards feels, so I will comment.”
Hillary Clinton’s campaign sent Rep. James McGovern, D-Mass., who said she “has visited over 82 countries as first lady and dozens more as a senator, so she will personally hit the ground running on Inauguration Day 2009.”
Michael Bloomfield, managing director of the Mellman Group, had the money quote of the afternoon. “Iraq is like a Playboy without the pictures,” he said. “It has all of the articles and all, it is just not the type of thing that you want to be talking about.”
