Palin’s no Spitzer
Sarah Palin’s got plenty of time to be a mom of five, a grandmother of one and vice president of the United States, says GOP pollster Kellyanne Conway. And she resents those commentators who have suggested otherwise. “That comes from childless people,” said Conway, a mother of three. “Some of those people don’t even like children.”
As far as time goes, Conway added that Palin “doesn’t even play golf, so she’s got an extra five hours on Saturday. And she’s not having an affair like certain men. … John Edwards and Eliot Spitzer spent untold hours having their affairs.”
Finally, Conway said, Palin’s a conservative role model: “Sarah Palin has exercised her right to choose five times.”
Conway’s comments came at Monday night’s “Political Chicks a Go Go” event, headlined by John Rich of country duo Big & Rich, who echoed Conway’s thoughts on Palin. “You’re now seeing her conservatism in a real-life situation,” he said, referring to her teenage daughter’s pregnancy.
Rich has written a song called “Raising McCain,” and he’s been traveling with the senator on the campaign trail. “He’s a guy who fires me up so I wrote a song that fires people up,” said Rich.
So what did he make of being the headlining guy at an event for the ladies? “I think women rule the world and they should,” he said. “They’re the smarter of the two” sexes.
