Dissatisfied With Meeting, Sheehan Has A Seat

Everybody’s favorite grieving mother Cindy Sheehan might have decided to come out of retirement, but she’s going to need some lessons in congressional procedure.

told us, lined up outside the door of the Michigan congressman’s office.

The crowd chanted catchy slogans all the way up Independence Avenue, the central theme being the impeachment of President Bush.

After arriving, Sheehan had a cordial, private meeting with Conyers, Hip Hop Caucus CEO the Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr. and others to discuss whether Conyers would call for impeachment. After he told Sheehan he wouldn’t go for impeaching Bush, she dropped the civility act and sat on the floor of his office until Capitol Police arrested her and about 45 other protesters.

When Yeas & Nays caught up to Conyers for a comment on Sheehan’s latest hijinks, he wasn’t exactly Mr. Manners to us either.

“Can you stop?” the congressman snapped at us, obviously annoyed that his office was occupied by crowds of sweaty, unhappy activists. “No. The answer is no.”
