» Bono’s in town! The U2 rocker (and his nearly eight-person-deep entourage) rolled up to the Park Hyatt in his sport utility vehicle (and trailing Town car) Monday afternoon. Expect to see Bono on Capitol Hill today as he meets with members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to discuss issues related to global poverty.

» Vanilla Ice rocked the house at McFadden’s on Friday night. One McFadden’s employee said all there is to say: “It was a great night for us.”

» NBC’s Conan O’Brien, made an appearance in Georgetown for the wedding of ABC’s Emily Lenzner and Roll Call’s Peter Cherukuri (O’Brien’s wife was Lenzner’s college roommate at Georgetown).

» Exhausted from two back-to-back shows at the 9:30 Club last week, rock band Kings of Leon took a load off while staying at the Four Seasons.

» Hip-hop artist Master P, in town for the Hip Hop Summit, got his rest at the Grand Hyatt.

» Michelle Obama and Howard Dean swung by Cafe Milano on Saturday for a brunch attended by members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Hosting the lunch were Art Collins, chairman and CEO of Public Private Partnership Inc., and Janice Griffin, president of Griffin & Associates. Others at the brunch included BET’s Bob Johnson and Rep. Charles Rangel. Mark Warner was also there and told the crowd, “My name is Mark Warner, and I’m looking for work!”

» “Law & Order’s” Sam Waterston, in town for the Shakespeare Theatre Company Opening Gala, dined at Teatro Goldoni on Sunday night in a party of four that chowed down on endive salad and mezalune pasta stuffed with duck confit.

» Former Major League Baseball pitcher Chuck Finley and model/actress Tawny Kitaen hit the town Friday. The divorced couple went to Georgetown’s Mie N Yu with two other guests and, from the way the two looked as they shared some of the restaurant’s citrus Kobe beef, you’d hardly know that they had a messy divorce.

» Sandra Day O’Connor, Sam Donaldson and Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Said Tayeb Jawad, were among the VIPs wishing British ambassador Sir David Manning, and his wife, Lady Catherine Manning, a safe voyage at a going away party for the couple at the British embassy. The Mannings return to Britain this week.

» Members of Duran Duran, bopping around town last week for appearances at various local radio stations.
